As defined by the Federal Trade Commission’s Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, creditor harassment in any form is completely unacceptable. It doesn’t matter whether you are a debtor who owes money or you are an innocent bystander to the situation; if you are being unfairly treated by a collection agency then you have a right to take legal action. Under the direction of a bankruptcy lawyer in your area you can make the necessary moves to bring to light any wrongful treatment that has been enacted against you / friends / family, etc. in a creditor’s unlawful attempts to collect on the debts that are due to them. Hiring an attorney to help you address the abuses being enacted against you will effectively put such mistreatment to an end.
