On February 16, 2010 a judge approved the Morris Publishing Group’s plan to emerge from bankruptcy protection less than a month after it filed Chapter 11. Morris Publishing’s debt restructuring proposal came with no objections from creditors. The publishing company hopes to emerge from bankruptcy protection by March 1. The top-tier lenders will be repaid in full as a part of the agreement, while holders of unsecured bonds will recoup 36 cents on the dollar.
