PC Game Publisher Files for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy

Brighter Minds Media, a U.S.-based PC game publisher, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy this week.

Brighter Mind's retail portfolio largely consists of family-oriented products and child-centric educational software.

Under the terms of Chapter 11 bankruptcy, the company can reorganize its finances and retail control of its assets.

The Ohio-based company is best known for publishing and launching the PC version of 2D Boy's acclaimed debut title World of Goo, and is responsible for the retail sales of the game in North America.

Some of the company's newer casual games, such as Top Chef the Game and Mystery Case Files: Return to Ravenhearst, are also available for download online by separate companies.

At this time, the company hasn't made any formal comments about the bankruptcy filing.
