Lee Memorial Hospital Files for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy

A.L. Lee Memorial Hospital in Fulton, NY has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, just weeks before the hospital plans to shut its doors.

The hospital said it filed for bankruptcy to help with its financial obligations as it slowly winds down operations and prepares to close.  Hospital officials say the bankruptcy filing will not impact employee pay or retiree pay.

The hospital plans to continue operations until the hospital closes near the end of April.

"Patient care remains our number one priority every day we are here. All available hospital services remain in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and patient safety protocols," said Dennis Casey, Executive Director of the hospital.

Oswego Health is taking over Lee Memorial.
